Welcome
to Costa Rica
Costa Rica’s
greatest attractions are natural. Rainforest,
active volcanoes and prolific birdlife are
certainly at the top of the list because
they are more accessible in Costa Rica than
in most other countries with similar attractions.
The national park system is the best in
Central America and provides visitors with
memorable experiences.
The most accessible volcanoes are Poás
and Irazú, both of which have roads
reaching overlooks of their active craters,
and Arenal which is one of the most active
volcanoes in the world and the best viewed
from afar.
For rainforest, the National Park at Corcovado
is the wildest and Manuel Antonio is the
prettiest. Tortuguero is excellent for wildlife
and Caño Negro is the least well
know but is superb for birding.
Outdoor enthusiasts also find top-notch
surfing, white-water rafting, windsurfing
and sport fishing. River running through
the rainforest on the Pacuare or Reventazón
Rivers in offered daily.

Windsurfers consider Laguna
de Arenal to be among the best windsurfing
spots in the world. Anglers routinely hook
(and release) world-class tarpon and sailfish
on both coasts, and firts-class fishing
resorts and experienced boat skippers provide
all the necesary expertise.
Combining outdoor adventure with the rainforest
brings you to places where you can climb
into the canopy and spend time on platforms
gazing out over the tropical treetops.
Your itinerary will depend on your interests.
Many visitors come to Costa Rica specifically
to practice a hobby such as surfing, fishing
or birding.
Others take the advantages
of the guide and van program and travel
more relax and comfortable and enjoy the
greatest experiences and knowledge of the
guide driver. |
